A large amount of attention was given to Ludmila Putin, his other half who won praise for her capability to "cook, clean and knit". Next to the magazine's several footage, articles charted the noble course of Mr Putin's life.

Showing his merciful side the youthful Vladimir also rescued 3 kittens from being drowned. Another story titled "I like all Russian women" looked at his love life.

Among his suitors was Vera, who was drawn to Mr Putin's "charisma and charm" and whom Mr Putin liked for "her capability to do house chores well". The mag even carried an image of Alina Kabayeva, the 25-year-old rhythmic gymnast with whom Mr Putin has denied having an affair. The dubious reports of the relationship seem to have augmented Mr Putin's recognition. Whilst some of its content might have appeared rude, the mag basically disclosed nothing the Kremlin hadn't licensed as knowledge for joe public domain. "I like to read about what Putin wears" related Galina, a Moscow businesswoman reading a copy of the mag on a park bench. "I like to understand that he enjoys eating fried cabbage and ham.

It somehow makes me feel closer to him.".
