Troyer reaches settlement in sex tape suit

Troyer filed a $20 m. suit against porn broker Kevin Blatt, distributor SugarDVD and celebrity gossip net site TMZ after bits of the 50-minute tape were released last month. Records show Blatt and SugarDVD have signed agreements requiring that they are getting Troyer's approval before selling or distributing the tape or any photographs from it. Edwin McPherson, one of Troyer's attorneys, claimed the actor has no design of ever granting approval. McPherson claimed he intended to modify the legal action on Mon. to stop Ranae Shrider, Troyer's ex-girlfriend, from releasing the tape. Shrider leaked bits of the tape to TMZ, according to a statement filed in Fed. court by the site.

Shrider indicated the tape was recorded on her video hardware and she was a partial owner. Troyer, who is best-known for his job as Mini Me in 2 of the "Austin Powers" films, has been looking for the return of the tape. McPherson related folks or firms might also be sued to stop the tape from being released. Records don't indicate if US District Judge Philip Gutierrez, who has presided over the case, signed off on the agreements Fri. afternoon. But since all parties agreed to them, McPherson stated that he saw no reason why they would not be granted. The agreements don't place any limitations on TMZ, which claimed a judge's approval to revive an online posting about the tape's existence after it was originally ordered removed by Gutierrez.
