It's time for us to pay homage to the special celebs who made this year the most unusual for THG and for celebrity gossip fans across the land and world.

These stars have given us their best, their worst, their off-the-wall escapades and, in the case of today's finalist, possibly the messiest Real-life TV divorce of all time. Now, it's on to Celebrity of the Year Finalist three : Jon Gosselin. Jon thinks he deserves to be higher, but he will have to accept three. It's difficult to credit that it was only half a year back that Jon Gosselin was known as your common-or-garden real life show pa of 8 who liked ATVs, Ed Hardy t-shirts, Bluetooths, and so on. His spouse was distressing but they made it work. He befriended Michael Lohan, hosted pool parties in Vegas, attempted to start his own clothing line and made a place in the higher echelon of global douchebags. When his wild boogying and nightly interviews on The Insider caused TLC to chop him out and rename their show Kate And eight, he proceeded to tug the plug on the show, quoting kid exploitation. What he'll try and pull next is any one's guess, but a run like he had is deserving of top 3 standing in 2009. Here is a tiny photograph tribute to the legendary Jon.
