And like it or not, you've got to admit the general public are fascinated. When accusations started flying that he cheated on his better half, web sites cranked out minute-by-minute updates. We asked Dr Wilson Renfroe, a therapist in Tyler, "Why are folks so fascinated with celebrity scandal?". Dr Renfroe claims, "Well, I believe the typical person has a tendency to wish to idealize or somehow identify with all of these folk who have celebrity standing. The average joe thinks Well, I want to be a multi-millionaire or a screen star or a pro sportsman, and fantasizes about that.

He continues, "When we see these folks get into hot water for one reason or another, or make reports for one reason or another it intrigues us as we have sort of become one with them.".
